Dedication Day!

What a perfect day! Sunday October 10th was our baby dedication day at church. For the past 4 years I have avoided this day as it was to hard for me to sit through. Watching all the precious babies dedicated by their parents while we were waiting and wondering when our family would start. The day was usually around Mother's Day which just made it even harder. But this year I couldn't wait for Dedication Day, we for the first time would be able to not only sit in church on this day, we would be one of the families with the most precious child standing on stage dedicating him and promising to raise him to know and love the Lord. I felt so blessed as we began this journey. We took Daniel to the photo shoot for the church, which turned out so cute I can't even describe it. I may be biased but he is one handsome little boy. When it came time for us to walk out on the stage, I felt so grateful and blessed as I looked out over the congregation and saw all our family and friends. Daniel spotted them too right away and started waving. He was so good. First up was the video of the pictures from all the kids in the dedication, this video was set to Darius Rucker's "It won't be like this for long". It was all I could do to hold back the tears. I love that song, but as a mom now I can totally relate. Time goes way to fast. It really feels like just yesterday we were looking at that sweet face for the first time and this past Sunday we were holding him on his dedication day. After dedication day we had family and friends over to celebrate with us as we all gathered to have a wonderful lunch filled with Ethiopian food and American food. Standing in our dining room looking at all the people that surrounded us I had to take a minute to just thank God for all he has given us. Daniel is one loved child. We all loved him before we even knew him and on this day we gathered to surround him with that love and celebrate him as he has definitely found his Forever Family. I can't even imagine life without him. Below are a few pictures from Dedication Day of the most precious, handsome and loving baby boy a mother could ask for.
